Social media across languages

Hola from the anti-social media

I realized over the past week that a significant portion of my traffic comes from people that speak Spanish, German, and Dutch and various other languages I don’t speak, read or write. Thankfully, American mass media has helped make English the lingua franca.

Wie wunderbar!

Still, I wonder what awful form of English they learn from this website. Like more people need to learn how to curse in English on social media.

Fuckers.

I’m glad to see the exposure around the world, but I wish I could communicate better with these audiences. I went to school for music, so I learned enough German, French, Spanish and Italian to be dangerous to myself. Otherwise, I rely on Google Translate to see what people are saying.

Like that’s much help though.

Do you have issues communicating with your global audience? Or do you not care to try and reach out to them in their native language? Let me know in the comments.
